Florale Tapeten

$

Tapete Woodblock Trail von Little Greene.

18th Century Wallpapers

London was the epicentre of the emerging wallpaper industry in the 18th century and many of the designs reproduced by Little Greene originate from particular London addresses. Some can even be identified with a particular room in the house.

Woodblock Trail - Union (1735)

Although paper making and printing was still undertaken entirely by hand, there was already a variety of innovative print effects such as 'flocking' and the cheaper version, 'mock flock.'

Albemarle St - Astral & Vapour (1760)

Cranford - Wheat (1765)

By the end of the century, paper hangers were regularly decorating rooms using full lengths of pre-printed paper to achieve the same effect as a traditional artisan decorator, who would have painted individual scenes around the walls of a room for an all-over effect.

Sage & Onions, Tea with Florence

Aquamarine 138, Ambleside 304 & Aquamarine Pale 28
